How the AI allowance works
Each paid plan has two limits. The daily number is the most AI chats
you can send in one day. The monthly AI allowance is how much AI you
can use in a month in total, and marking a paper uses far more of it than a chat.
Pro: about 40 paper markings (up to 6 pages each), or about 300 chats a month, or a mix.
Max: about the same amount. It runs on the most capable model, which costs more per use, so Max is for sharper marking and its extra features, not for more volume.
If you reach it, AI features pause until the 1st of the next month. The paper library, your flashcards and your notes keep working.

What we collect
An email address, a name if given, and the work your child chooses to mark.
If they connect Notion, that secret is stored encrypted on our server and is
never sent to the browser. Answers are used to mark and to build their revision
list — not to train models.
Paying on their behalf
Most students pay for Nova themselves. If you are paying for your child, open this
page while they are logged in to their own account, choose a plan and pay at
checkout; the receipt and the reminder before the first payment go to the email on
their account. On a first subscription the first 7 days are free, and nothing is

How accurate is the marking?+
Nova marks against the official mark scheme and shows you which criterion each mark came from, so you can check its working rather than take a number on trust. It gets things wrong sometimes. When you think a mark is wrong you can challenge it and Nova will re-mark. It is a revision tool, not an examiner.
Which exam boards does it cover?+
AQA, Edexcel and OCR, across GCSE and IGCSE, for Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science. Nova is not affiliated with any exam board.
Do I need Notion?+
No. Notion is optional. You can use Nova with past papers alone, or type notes straight in. If you do connect Notion, your pages stay in Notion and edits go back there.
What happens after the 7 free days?+
Pro and Max start with 7 days free. You enter card details to start, nothing is taken during those 7 days, and the first payment is only taken on day 8. Cancel before then from the Pricing page (Manage or cancel subscription) and you are charged nothing at all. The 7 free days are once per account.
Can I cancel?+
Any time, from the Pricing page — Manage or cancel subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and there is a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Who can see my answers?+
